I was hesitant to write this, simply because I knew that I would be dismissed as a crank by so many. For months since I first realized what I’m about to write here, I imagined myself dismissed as some senile Fox Mulder. But no matter how I tried to interpret the data from my files on United Flight 2581, I could come to only one conclusion: No human or Earthly force could have brought down my wife’s plane in the terrifying manner that it was.
The cause could only have been extra-terrestrial.
I felt released as I wrote that.
But alien involvement is the only thing I can conclude from the sheer strangeness of the phenomena involved. Consider the following:
1) Recently declassified NORAD files, copies of which are part of my own data on the crash, reveal that a massive electromagnetic disturbance occurs over that particular region of northwestern Quebec every 17 years.
2) The metal of the plane itself seemed to twist in ways that no ordinary crash could have done. Parts of the plane even replicated themselves. Investigators describe the fuselage as bubbling long after the crash, but not hot to the touch. They say the metal seemed to be budding, like how some plants or microorganisms reproduce.
3) The organic life in the field surrounding the crash site showed clear signs of mutation. Investigators describe the grass as having grown into unnatural, jagged shapes. Such harm to the vegetation could not have been caused by the impact of the plane alone. I have speculated some kind of radiation, but that hypothesis does not align with the fact that the creatures seemed to thrive in the environment. It seemed that the DNA of the plants themselves were affected. Some investigators even described insects whose exoskeletons were twisted into grotesque shapes that could not have evolved naturally on Earth. Yet these creatures behaved otherwise entirely normally, thriving in this inhuman forest.
4) And there were lights in the forest, inexplicable crimson lights emanating from the ground.
Countless investigators from the transportation and homeland security bureaus of two countries descended on that crash site and the nearby town of Seul-Coeur. Given the scale of the investigation and the number of people who died in the crash, including my wife Zoiey, there was no way that these paranormal events could have been kept from the public eye except through a massive cover-up. In the digital age, the reach of the government to keep this knowledge from the public would have to be massive — the effort they would need to keep this secret would be bigger than what they allegedly put into hiding the Roswell crash.
But I will work to bring this violation of the public trust, and desecration of the memories of the dead, to the public eye.
